Department of Physical Education Expands Sports Volunteer Network Nationwide
The Department of Physical Education is scaling up its sports volunteer initiative, having successfully established over 8,041 exercise clubs across Thailand.
According to a report by Matichon Online, the Department of Physical Education (DPE) is actively advancing its sports volunteer program to strengthen community health networks throughout Thailand. The initiative focuses on fostering local engagement by establishing and supporting exercise clubs in various regions.
As of September 2026, the DPE has successfully facilitated the creation of more than 8,041 exercise clubs nationwide. This project aims to promote physical activity and wellness by creating structured environments where residents can participate in sports and fitness routines under the guidance of local volunteers.
For residents and long-term visitors, this expansion may provide increased opportunities to engage with local communities through organized fitness activities. These clubs often serve as hubs for social interaction and health-conscious living. While the network is extensive, the specific locations, operating hours, and accessibility for non-Thai speakers remain to be confirmed at the local level. Those interested in participating are encouraged to inquire at their local district offices or municipal centers to see if a registered club is active in their immediate vicinity. The DPE continues to monitor the progress of these clubs to ensure they meet the intended goals of promoting a healthier lifestyle across the country.
