TCG Launches 'Nano Plus' Credit Guarantee to Support Micro-SMEs

The Thai Credit Guarantee Corporation (TCG) has introduced the 'Nano Plus' program to help small-scale vendors and freelancers access formal credit amid ongoing economic challenges.

On September 23, 2026, the Thai Credit Guarantee Corporation (TCG) announced the launch of the 'Nano Plus' credit guarantee scheme. According to Khaosod Online, this initiative aims to assist micro-SMEs, street vendors, and independent workers who have struggled to secure financing due to 16 consecutive quarters of shrinking SME credit.

Dr. Sittikorn Direksoonthorn, TCG’s General Manager, stated that the program is designed to address liquidity issues exacerbated by regional tensions, rising energy costs, and weakened consumer purchasing power. By providing credit guarantees, the scheme enables a wide range of financial institutions—including commercial banks, state-run lenders, non-bank entities, and emerging virtual banks—to extend loans to these vulnerable groups with greater confidence.

For residents and business owners in Thailand, this development is significant as it may stabilize the local micro-economy and support the survival of small businesses that form the backbone of the community. While the program is now active, the specific interest rates and individual eligibility criteria for applicants at various participating financial institutions remain to be confirmed. Interested parties are encouraged to contact their preferred financial service providers to understand how the TCG guarantee applies to their specific business needs.
