AirAsia Expands Flight Network from Don Mueang for High Season

According to Khaosod Online, Thai AirAsia is significantly expanding its flight operations from Don Mueang International Airport to prepare for the upcoming high season. The airline plans to serve 53 routes across 46 cities throughout Asia, with a particular focus on the Indian and Japanese markets.

Thansita Akrarittiphirom, Commercial Director of Thai AirAsia, explained that the airline had previously reduced flight frequencies and suspended certain routes during the third quarter to manage operational costs amid fluctuating fuel prices and shifting travel demand. With the arrival of the high season, the airline is now restoring these services and increasing flight frequencies on popular routes to accommodate both outbound Thai travelers and inbound international tourists.

Key updates include the resumption of six routes to India and the return of direct flights from Phuket to Siem Reap. Additionally, the Bangkok-Kuala Lumpur route is being reinstated to facilitate domestic connectivity for international arrivals. Thai AirAsia X is also scaling up its operations, offering direct flights to four Japanese destinations, including up to 21 weekly flights to Tokyo.

For travelers and residents, this expansion offers improved connectivity and more scheduling options. While the airline has expressed confidence in a robust high season, specific details regarding individual flight schedules and potential future adjustments remain subject to the airline's operational updates.
