Authorities, acting on a tip-off regarding a large-scale drug shipment moving from Chiang Rai toward Chiang Mai, attempted to intercept a white Honda CR-V.
The vehicle failed to stop at the checkpoint, leading to a pursuit that ended when the car veered off the road. The occupants reportedly opened fire on law enforcement officers, resulting in a shootout. One suspect was killed during the exchange, while the second individual was apprehended and taken into custody. Police successfully seized 4.5 million methamphetamine pills found in the vehicle.
