On September 23, 2026, the Thai Meteorological Department reported that Bangkok and its surrounding areas are expected to experience significant rainfall, covering approximately 80% of the region. The forecast highlights a high probability of heavy downpours, particularly affecting the Thonburi side, including districts such as Thawi Watthana, Taling Chan, Nong Khaem, Bang Khae, Phasi Charoen, Chom Thong, Bang Bon, Bang Khun Thian, and Thung Khru.
This weather pattern is driven by a strong low-pressure system moving from the coast of Vietnam toward Cambodia, combined with a monsoon trough passing through central and eastern Thailand. Additionally, a moderate southwest monsoon is influencing the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand.
For residents and travelers, this weather poses a risk of flash floods, forest runoff, and landslides, especially in low-lying areas or near mountain slopes. Authorities advise the public to exercise caution, avoid routes prone to recurring flooding, and prepare for potential short-term water accumulation.
