Thailand’s Ministry of Finance Prepares New Welfare Card Scheme

According to a report by Prachachat Business, the Thai Ministry of Finance is preparing to support an expanded list of 14.5 million beneficiaries for the state welfare card program, up from the previous 13.1 million. Ekniti Nitithanprapas, a senior official, announced plans to provide an additional 700 baht per month for two months to those who qualify under the updated criteria.

Meanwhile, approximately 7.5 million individuals who no longer meet the requirements for the state welfare card are expected to be transitioned to a separate initiative known as 'Thai Chuay Thai Plus.'
