TCG Launches 'Nano Plus' to Support SMEs via Non-Banks and Virtual Banks

The Thai Credit Guarantee Corporation (TCG) has introduced the 'Nano Plus' credit guarantee scheme to help small businesses access funding through non-bank and virtual bank institutions.

According to Prachachat Business, the Thai Credit Guarantee Corporation (TCG) has officially launched the 'Nano Plus' credit guarantee program. This initiative marks the first time the TCG has extended its guarantee services to include non-bank financial institutions and virtual banks, aligning with government efforts to improve financial inclusion.

The program is designed to assist over 100,000 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that previously faced challenges in securing traditional bank loans. Under the scheme, the TCG will provide guarantees for loans ranging from 5,000 THB to a maximum of 50,000 THB per individual. A key feature of the program is the waiver of guarantee fees for the entire four-year duration of the coverage.

For residents and business owners in Thailand, this development may simplify the process of obtaining micro-credit, particularly for those operating outside the traditional banking sector. By leveraging virtual banks and non-bank lenders, small entrepreneurs may find it easier to manage liquidity or invest in small-scale operations.

While the program is now active, details regarding the specific list of participating virtual banks and the exact application criteria for individual non-bank lenders remain to be confirmed by the respective financial institutions. Interested parties are encouraged to monitor official TCG announcements for updates on how to apply.
