Authorities in Ubon Ratchathani are investigating the death of an unidentified man discovered in the Mun River with a weighted sack attached to his body.
On September 22, 2026, local police in Ubon Ratchathani were alerted to a body floating in the Mun River near Ban Na Kham, Kut Lat sub-district. According to Khaosod Online, a local fisherman discovered the remains and secured them to the riverbank to prevent them from drifting away.
Police, forensic experts from Sappasitthiprasong Hospital, and rescue teams arrived at the scene to recover the body. The deceased is described as an unidentified male, estimated to be between 40 and 45 years old. He was found wearing a blue short-sleeved shirt and brown shorts, with a fertilizer sack containing rocks attached to his person. Initial examinations suggest the individual had been deceased for at least three days, as the body showed signs of decomposition. No obvious major wounds or signs of physical trauma were immediately visible, and no identification documents were recovered, though a 20-baht banknote was found in his pocket.
