Assault Reported at Rayong Snooker Hall Following Dispute
A local man in Rayong allegedly assaulted a visitor with a snooker cue after a game was cut short, leading to a police investigation.
According to a report by Khaosod Online, a violent altercation occurred at a snooker hall in the Choeng Noen sub-district of Rayong province on September 22, 2026. CCTV footage captured a 38-year-old local man, identified as Mr. Apichart, striking a 32-year-old visitor named Mr. Chaiyong on the head with a snooker cue. The force of the blow was sufficient to break the cue and cause the victim to collapse to the floor.
Reports indicate that the dispute began when Mr. Chaiyong and his relatives decided to stop playing after one game, despite Mr. Apichart having joined the match. The suspect reportedly expressed frustration over the loss of a 20-baht stake and the premature end of the game. Following the assault, the suspect allegedly exited the premises while issuing verbal threats to other patrons.
For residents and travelers, this incident highlights the risks associated with spontaneous confrontations in local recreational venues. While the victim sustained injuries, the full extent of his medical condition and the current status of the police pursuit of the suspect remain to be confirmed. Authorities are expected to review the surveillance footage as part of their ongoing investigation into the assault.
