Bangkok Police Graduate 56 New Arintarat 26 Counter-Terrorism Specialists
The Metropolitan Police Bureau has officially certified 56 new officers from the 11th Arintarat 26 counter-terrorism training program to address rising public safety threats.
On September 22, 2026, the Metropolitan Police Bureau (MPB) held a graduation ceremony for 56 officers who successfully completed the 11th 'Arintarat 26' counter-terrorism training course. The ceremony, presided over by MPB Commissioner Lieutenant General Siam Boonsom, took place at the tactical shooting range of the Patrol and Special Operation Division.
This intensive 18-week program is designed to equip specialized units with international-standard tactical capabilities. Commissioner Siam emphasized that the training is a direct response to the increasing frequency and severity of violent crimes and public shooting incidents in Thailand. By enhancing the skills of these special operators, the Royal Thai Police aims to improve its readiness to manage critical situations and public safety threats.
For residents and travelers, this development highlights the ongoing efforts by Thai authorities to bolster security infrastructure in response to evolving public safety concerns. While these specialized units are primarily deployed for high-risk tactical operations, their increased presence and training levels are part of a broader strategy to maintain order in urban environments. It remains to be confirmed how these new graduates will be distributed across specific operational units in Bangkok and whether further specialized training cycles are planned for the coming year to continue strengthening the force's response capabilities.
