BYD Thailand Celebrates Production Milestone of 100,000 New Energy Vehicles
BYD Auto Thailand has officially reached a production milestone of 100,000 new energy vehicles at its Rayong facility.
According to Khaosod Online, BYD Auto (Thailand) Co., Ltd. has announced that its manufacturing plant in Thailand has successfully produced its 100,000th new energy vehicle. This facility, located in the WHA Industrial Estate in Rayong province, represents a significant investment of over 30 billion baht and serves as the company's first production base outside of China.
Benson Ke, General Manager of BYD Auto (Thailand), stated that the plant has a maximum production capacity of 150,000 vehicles per year. The factory began its operations with the delivery of the BYD Dolphin, which also marked the company's 8 millionth new energy vehicle delivered globally as of July 4, 2024.
For residents and travelers in Thailand, this milestone highlights the country's growing role as a regional hub for electric vehicle manufacturing and the increasing availability of clean energy transport options.
