OSOTHO Fair #2 Concludes with Focus on Sustainable Tourism
The second OSOTHO Fair in Bangkok attracted over 8,000 visitors, highlighting sustainable travel practices and local craftsmanship.
The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), through its OSOTHO magazine, has concluded the 'OSOTHO Fair #2: The Travellers’ Tales' event, held from September 18 to 20, 2026, at Museum Siam in Bangkok. The three-day festival drew more than 8,000 attendees, showcasing a variety of regional food, local crafts, and partner booths.
Beyond the commercial success, which generated over 700,000 THB in sales, the event emphasized environmental responsibility. Organizers reported that 56% of attendees utilized public transportation to reach the venue, and a total of 261 kilograms of waste was systematically managed throughout the fair.
For travelers and residents, this event serves as a model for integrating sustainability into public gatherings. By promoting eco-friendly transit and waste reduction, the organizers aimed to demonstrate that tourism can be both engaging and environmentally conscious. While the event has successfully concluded, it highlights a growing trend in Thailand’s tourism sector toward sustainable practices.
