Department of Cooperative Promotion Allocates 500 Million Baht to Boost Regional Logistics
The Department of Cooperative Promotion plans to invest 500 million baht in the 2027 fiscal year to transform Cooperative Distribution Centers (CDC) into regional hubs.
According to a report by Prachachat Business, the Department of Cooperative Promotion is set to inject 500 million baht from the Cooperative Development Fund into the Cooperative Distribution Center (CDC) network for the 2027 fiscal year. The initiative aims to upgrade existing centers into regional logistics hubs, supported by low-interest loans ranging from 1% to 3%.
To enhance efficiency, the department is partnering with the Land Transport Federation of Thailand to secure special shipping rates for these centers. The primary goal of this investment is to stimulate economic activity within the cooperative sector, with a target of reaching 5 billion baht in sales by 2026.
For residents and travelers, this development may lead to improved availability and distribution of local agricultural and cooperative products across various regions. By streamlining the supply chain, the government hopes to lower costs and increase the reach of local goods.
