Thai Government Launches 'Nano Plus' Credit Guarantee Scheme for Small Businesses

The Thai Ministry of Finance and the Thai Credit Guarantee Corporation (TCG) have introduced the 'Nano Plus' program to provide credit guarantees for small-scale vendors and SMEs.

On September 22, 2026, the Thai Ministry of Finance, led by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Ekniti Nitithanprapas, officially launched the 'Nano Plus' credit guarantee scheme. According to Khaosod Online, the initiative is a collaboration between the Thai Credit Guarantee Corporation (TCG), state-owned banks, and non-bank financial institutions.

The program aims to assist small-scale vendors and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in accessing capital by providing credit guarantees for loans ranging from 5,000 to 50,000 Thai Baht per applicant. A key feature of the scheme is the waiver of guarantee fees for a period of four years. The government has set a target to support approximately 100,000 individuals through this initiative, which is designed to improve financial inclusion for 'small players' in the economy.

For residents and small business owners in Thailand, this program may offer a more accessible pathway to securing necessary business funding without the burden of initial guarantee costs. However, specific eligibility criteria for individual applicants and the list of participating financial institutions remain details that interested parties should confirm directly with their local banks or the TCG. The launch event, held at the Ministry of Finance, emphasized the government's commitment to fostering financial opportunities for grassroots entrepreneurs.
