Gold Prices in Thailand Projected to Reach 75,000 Baht by Year-End
Analysts from Siam Commercial Bank and Hua Seng Heng forecast a significant rise in gold prices, potentially hitting 75,000 baht per baht-weight by the end of 2026.
According to a report by Khaosod Online, analysts from Siam Commercial Bank and Hua Seng Heng Gold Futures have projected that domestic gold prices in Thailand could reach 75,000 baht per baht-weight by the end of 2026. This forecast is supported by the expectation that global gold prices may climb to 5,000 USD per ounce.
Sirilak Pakotiprapha, Director of Analysis at Hua Seng Heng Gold Futures, noted that gold prices have increased more than eightfold over the past two decades. This shift is attributed to a structural change in market drivers, moving from individual retail investors to institutional influence, specifically through gold ETFs and consistent net buying by central banks worldwide. Since 2010, central banks have been active buyers, with significant accumulation exceeding 1,000 tons annually between 2022 and 2024.
For residents and expatriates in Thailand, this trend highlights the ongoing volatility and appreciation of gold as a financial asset. While these projections suggest a bullish outlook for the precious metal, they remain market forecasts based on current institutional buying patterns. Whether these specific price targets will be met depends on continued global economic conditions and central bank policies. Investors are advised to monitor market updates closely, as these figures are estimates and not guaranteed outcomes.
