Thai Government Confident in Central Region Flood Management

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Ekniti Nitithanprapas stated that the government remains confident in its ability to manage water levels in the central region. According to Prachachat Business, the administration has instructed provincial governors to remain on standby to address potential flood risks. To support these efforts, the government has allocated a reserve budget of 100 million baht per region to facilitate immediate response measures.

Regarding technical preparations, Ekniti explained that if rainfall volume exceeds 1,500 cubic meters, the government plans to divert excess water into secondary canals to mitigate the impact on populated areas.
