Thailand to Regulate Solar Rooftop Standards for 1.5 Million Households

According to a report by Prachachat Business, Thailand’s Ministry of Industry is preparing to enforce strict quality standards for a government-backed solar rooftop initiative targeting 1.5 million households. Minister of Industry Varawut Silpa-archa stated that the move is designed to prevent the installation of low-quality equipment in the national project.
Under the proposed framework, solar equipment that meets international IEC standards will be eligible for expedited Thai Industrial Standard (TIS) certification. This regulatory push aims to ensure the long-term efficiency and safety of the solar infrastructure being deployed across the country.
