According to Khaosod Online, Riot Games has unveiled a significant restructuring plan for the League of Legends (LoL) Esports ecosystem in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, effective from 2027. The new framework aims to create a more accessible and competitive pathway for players and teams, starting from national leagues and culminating in the regional LCP.
Under the new system, teams will first compete within their respective national leagues—specifically the PCS, VCS, and LJL. Top-performing teams from these leagues will then advance to the LCP, a high-level bracket designed to showcase the region's best talent and determine qualifiers for global tournaments. This initiative follows a period of growth for the APAC scene, highlighted by a record-breaking viewership of nearly 500,000 during the 2025 LCP Mid-Season Finals.
