Road Damage in Buriram Causes Multiple Vehicle Tire Failures

According to a report by Khaosod Online on September 21, 2026, a section of the Lahan Sai-Chaloem Phra Kiat road in Buriram’s Ta Chong sub-district has become a hazard for motorists. A local resident posted a video warning others after her van suffered tire damage from deep, water-filled potholes along a one-kilometer stretch of the road.

Reports indicate that over 30 vehicles have sustained tire and rim damage while traversing this area. While local drivers are reportedly aware of the road conditions and navigate around the hazards, many motorists from outside the area have been caught off guard. Some affected drivers were forced to change tires themselves, while others had to call for professional assistance, resulting in significant delays and repair costs.

Although authorities have reportedly attempted repairs in the past, the road surface has deteriorated again shortly after. The current situation poses a risk to road safety, with concerns raised that the lack of visibility, particularly when potholes are filled with water, could lead to more serious accidents. Travelers passing through the Lahan Sai district are advised to exercise extreme caution. It remains to be confirmed when a permanent repair solution will be implemented by the relevant local authorities to address the structural integrity of this road segment.
