Thai Athletics Team Reviews Asian Games 2026 Dining Hall
Thai athletes competing in the 20th Asian Games in Japan have shared their feedback on the official dining facilities, praising the food quality while noting concerns regarding portion sizes.
Members of the Thai national athletics team, currently participating in the 20th Asian Games in Japan, have provided a review of the food served in the official athletes' dining hall. According to a post by the Athletics Association of Thailand, the team highlighted the variety of options available, which include a range of proteins and vitamins.
Star sprinter Puripol Boonson, a key medal hopeful, sampled various dishes including shrimp and meat, noting that the broccoli was particularly flavorful. Other team members, such as pole vaulter Patsapong Amsam-ang, sampled fried chicken, rice, mushroom cream, and dumplings. While the athletes generally agreed that the food is delicious and diverse, a common critique emerged regarding the portion sizes, which some found to be insufficient. Additionally, some athletes reported receiving limited options, such as only boiled eggs and rice.
For residents and travelers interested in the event, these insights offer a glimpse into the logistical operations of the host nation. While the quality of the catering has been positively received, the consistency of portion control remains a point of discussion among the participants. It remains to be confirmed whether organizers will adjust serving sizes in response to this feedback as the games progress.
