Neighborly Dispute Over Incense Smoke Resolved in Khlong Sam

A resident in Khlong Sam, identified as 41-year-old Mr. Surapong, recently reported a resolution to a persistent neighborhood dispute. Mr. Surapong had previously sought assistance from various authorities, including the local sub-district administration and environmental agencies, due to health issues caused by heavy incense smoke from a neighbor’s home. The neighbor, who operates a spirit medium shrine, frequently burned dozens of incense sticks daily and played music, which exacerbated Mr. Surapong’s sinusitis and allergies.

Despite previous attempts to resolve the issue through local management and official complaints, the situation remained tense until Dr. Pratchaya Sonsiri, representing the team of Dr. Thanakrit Jitarit, intervened last week. Following mediation, the neighbor agreed to cease daily incense burning, limiting the practice to Buddhist holy days only.

As of September 21, 2026, officials confirmed that the agreement has been upheld for seven days.
