Famous Amulet Expert 'Pong Suphan' Summoned in Temple Embezzlement Case

Thai police have summoned Samer Ngiwngam, widely known as 'Pong Suphan,' a prominent figure in the amulet community, to provide testimony regarding his involvement with the 'Wan Choti Foundation.' This foundation was established by Atichot Thangprasert, the former abbot of Wat Phutthaisawan, who is currently under investigation for the alleged embezzlement of hundreds of millions of baht from the temple.

According to Khaosod Online, investigators have already questioned five of the six board members of the foundation, all of whom provided information deemed useful to the ongoing case. Pong Suphan, identified as the final board member, has been requested to report to authorities by September 22, 2026, to explain his connection to the organization.

In response to public speculation, Pong Suphan stated via his social media channels that he has never accepted money from the temple. Instead, he claims to have made personal donations, including cash and one kilogram of gold, out of pure faith. For residents and visitors, this case highlights an ongoing investigation into financial irregularities within religious institutions. While the police continue to trace the flow of funds through the Anti-Money Laundering Office (AMLO), the extent of Pong Suphan’s involvement and the full scope of the foundation's activities remain to be confirmed by the official investigation.
