Udon Thani International Horticultural Expo Nears Completion
The 2026 International Horticultural Expo in Udon Thani is 95% complete and scheduled to open on November 1, with officials projecting millions of visitors.
According to Prachachat Business, preparations for the 2026 International Horticultural Expo in Udon Thani have reached 95% completion. The event is officially set to open its doors to the public on November 1, 2026.
Local authorities and the Udon Thani Chamber of Commerce view this event as a pivotal opportunity to establish the province as a primary tourism hub in the Isan region. Projections suggest the expo could attract approximately 3.6 million visitors, potentially generating 32 billion baht in economic activity. Furthermore, the Chamber of Commerce anticipates that the influx of visitors for the expo will help push the total annual tourism figure for the province to 5.5 million people.
To support this growth, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is currently finalizing travel routes to connect the expo site with other regional attractions. For residents and travelers, this event represents a significant increase in local infrastructure and tourism activity. While the opening date is confirmed, travelers should monitor official announcements regarding specific event schedules and potential traffic adjustments in the Udon Thani area as the launch date approaches.
