Corruption Allegations Against Pathum Thani Health Center Director
A prominent anti-corruption group has accused the director of a health center in Pathum Thani of serious misconduct, including gambling on-site and misuse of public funds.
The 'STRONG Anti-Corruption Thailand' group, which monitors public sector integrity, has publicly alleged significant misconduct by the director of the Khlong Nueng Health Promoting Hospital in Pathum Thani province. According to the report published by Khaosod Online, the group received evidence from whistleblowers detailing three primary areas of concern.
First, the director and staff are accused of gambling (playing cards) during official working hours, with photographic evidence allegedly showing cash on tables within the facility. Second, the report claims that pets were kept inside the emergency room, leading to concerns regarding hygiene, as cat fur was reportedly found contaminating medical supplies such as cotton containers. Finally, the director is accused of filing fraudulent claims for 'ghost shifts'—collecting pay for duty hours that were not actually worked.
For residents and those relying on local public health services, these allegations raise serious questions regarding the standard of care, hygiene protocols, and the ethical management of public health facilities. While these claims have been publicized by a major anti-corruption watchdog, they currently remain allegations.
