NT and MEAei Partner to Expand EV Motorcycle Charging Network
National Telecom (NT) and MEAei have launched the 'NEXA EV Station Hub' initiative, aiming to deploy 48,000 fast-charging points for electric motorcycles across Thailand.
According to a report by Prachachat Business, National Telecom (NT) has entered a strategic partnership with MEAei to accelerate the development of electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure. The collaboration, branded as the 'NEXA EV Station Hub,' involves a coalition of five partners, including the electric motorcycle manufacturer DECO.
The project aims to establish 48,000 fast-charging points specifically designed for electric motorcycles. The initiative highlights the introduction of a new fast-charging technology, which the partners claim is a world-first for the electric motorcycle sector. Suwanna Hansajaruphan, Executive Vice President of NT, noted that this effort is intended to transform the local EV landscape by addressing charging accessibility.
For residents and travelers in Thailand, this expansion could significantly improve the convenience of owning or renting electric motorcycles, potentially reducing 'range anxiety' and supporting the transition to greener transport options.
