Police Officer Detained Following Shooting Incident in Pattaya Apartment
A police officer from Bang Lamung station was taken into custody after firing multiple shots inside an apartment in Nong Prue, Chon Buri.
On September 19, 2026, Pattaya City Police responded to reports of gunfire at an apartment complex in Nong Prue, Bang Lamung, Chon Buri. Upon arrival, officers secured the scene and apprehended a police officer from the Bang Lamung station who was found in possession of a 9mm handgun.
According to Khaosod Online, the incident occurred on the third floor of the building. While bullet holes were discovered in the walls and ceiling, no injuries were reported. Four women, aged between 18 and 25, were present in the room and have been taken in for questioning. Witnesses, including apartment staff, reported that the officer appeared to be in an intoxicated state, exhibiting tremors and aggressive behavior prior to the shooting. The officer claimed he was acting in self-defense, while allegations have surfaced from the women present regarding the potential involvement of illicit substances, specifically 'K-powder' (ketamine).
For residents and travelers, this incident highlights a serious internal disciplinary matter involving law enforcement. Pattaya police have stated that the entire group is undergoing drug testing and that a strict investigation is underway. Authorities have vowed to pursue both disciplinary and criminal charges if wrongdoing is confirmed.
