Launch of 'Thai Tiew Thai Plus' Tourism Campaign Postponed to 2027
The government has delayed the 'Thai Tiew Thai Plus' initiative until April 2027, leaving local tourism operators disappointed as they had prepared campaigns for the year-end period.
According to a report by Prachachat Business, the launch of the 'Thai Tiew Thai Plus' tourism stimulus campaign has been officially postponed. Originally anticipated to boost year-end travel, the program is now scheduled to commence on April 1, 2027.
This delay has caused frustration among local tourism operators and hotel owners who had already developed marketing campaigns and promotions in anticipation of the initiative. Industry stakeholders noted that they had previously suggested implementing such stimulus measures during the low season to better support secondary cities, which rely heavily on domestic tourism.
For travelers and residents, this means that expected government-backed travel incentives will not be available for the upcoming high season. While the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and the Tourism Council of Thailand are reportedly working on preparations for the new launch date, the specific details of the incentives remain to be confirmed. Travelers planning trips to secondary provinces should be aware that the anticipated subsidies or promotional support will not be active until the second quarter of 2027. Stakeholders are now urging the government to use this extended lead time to ensure the program is fully prepared for its eventual rollout.
