On September 19, 2026, local authorities in Samut Songkhram province responded to a distressing discovery at Wat Si Sattha Tham in Khlong Khoen sub-district. A newborn male infant, still with his umbilical cord attached, was found abandoned inside a black 'Ultraman Cosmos' backpack in a restroom located behind the temple.
The infant was discovered by a local resident, 49-year-old Somsak Nilwas, who heard crying while returning from fishing near the temple grounds late the previous evening. Upon investigation, he found the baby wrapped in a pink towel inside the bag and alerted emergency services. Rescue teams from the Sapphrachen Foundation provided initial care before transporting the child to Somdej Phra Phutthaloetla Hospital for urgent medical attention.
