Thai Government Approves Second Phase of Stimulus and Announces Electricity Fee Reduction
The Thai government has greenlit the 'Thai Help Thai Plus' phase two stimulus program and confirmed a reduction in electricity fuel adjustment charges for the final months of 2026.
According to a report by Thai Post, Deputy Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has confirmed that the government has approved the second phase of the 'Thai Help Thai Plus' stimulus initiative. While the official budget allocation is currently being finalized by Ekniti Nitithanprapas, reports suggest the program may provide 1,000 baht per person to be spent over a two-month period.
In addition to the stimulus news, the National Energy Policy Council (NEPC) has decided to reduce the fuel adjustment charge (Ft) for the period of September through December 2026. This adjustment is intended to alleviate the cost of living for residents and businesses during the final quarter of the year.
For residents and long-term visitors, these measures represent a potential boost to local purchasing power and a slight reduction in utility expenses.
