Thai Prime Minister Hosts Southern Monk for Spiritual Ceremony at Government House
Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul invited a prominent monk from Trang province to perform a blessing ceremony at Government House to boost morale and seek auspicious guidance.
On September 11, 2026, Thai Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul hosted Phra Ajarn Prasoot Piyadhammo, the abbot of Wat Tham Phra Phuttha Kosri (Wat Nai Tao) in Trang province, at the Thai Khu Fah Building in Government House. According to a report by Khaosod Online, the Prime Minister invited the monk to provide spiritual encouragement and guidance for his official duties.
During the visit, Phra Ajarn Prasoot performed a blessing ceremony, which included inscribing sacred yantra symbols on the Prime Minister’s desk and presiding over a gold-leaf application ritual on a Narasimha statue located on the second-floor balcony. The monk, a well-known figure from the Khao Or school of magic, previously blessed the Prime Minister during his election campaign in Trang, where he reportedly expressed a wish for Mr. Anutin to serve two terms.
For residents and observers of Thai political culture, this event highlights the enduring intersection of traditional Buddhist practices and state governance.
