Thai Ministries Partner to Advance Sustainable Natural Resource Management
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation have signed a cooperation agreement to promote sustainable environmental development.
On September 18, 2026, in Bangkok, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MNRE) and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) officially signed a memorandum of intent to collaborate on scientific research and innovation. The agreement was signed by Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Suchart Chomklin and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation Professor Dr. Yotsanan Wongsawat.
According to Khaosod Online, the partnership aims to leverage scientific advancements to foster sustainable development of natural resources and move toward a 'nature-positive' outcome. The ceremony was attended by high-ranking officials, including the permanent secretaries of both ministries and the Director-General of the Department of Marine and Coastal Resources.
