Fatal House Fire in Phrae Province
A man died in a house fire in Den Chai district, Phrae, just two days after he began house-sitting the property.
On September 18, 2026, a tragic fire occurred at a two-story, semi-concrete house in Ban Pak Chua, Den Chai District, Phrae Province. According to Khaosod Online, local authorities were alerted to the blaze at approximately 1:00 AM. Four fire engines from the Den Chai Municipality were dispatched to the scene, where they encountered intense flames engulfing the structure. Firefighters worked for nearly an hour to bring the fire under control.
Tragically, upon inspecting the remains of the house, authorities discovered the body of a man who had been house-sitting the property for only two days. The victim was identified as the individual tasked with watching over the home, which belongs to a woman named Thanom.
While the investigation is ongoing, preliminary assessments by the Den Chai Police suggest that the fire may have been caused by an electrical short circuit. For residents and visitors, this incident serves as a somber reminder of the importance of fire safety and the necessity of ensuring that electrical systems in older or semi-permanent structures are regularly inspected and maintained. Authorities have not yet released a final forensic report, and the exact cause of the ignition remains subject to further investigation by the police.
