Chememan Targets Global Top 5 Status in Lime Production
Thai lime producer Chememan aims for a net profit exceeding 1 billion baht within five years as it pursues international expansion.
According to Khaosod Online, Chememan Public Company Limited has announced a strategic 'Big Jump' growth phase, aiming to become one of the world's top five lime producers. During a recent investor talk in Chiang Mai, Chairman M.L. Chandrachut Chandratat highlighted the company's recent acquisition of Lime Master, completed in July, as a key move to strengthen its domestic market share.
For residents and investors, this expansion signals a significant shift in the company's regional footprint. Chememan plans to aggressively target the Indo-Pacific region over the next three years. Key developments include planned investments in India, with updates expected within the next 6 to 12 months, and the construction of a new facility in Indonesia, slated to begin in the second quarter of 2027.
While the company is optimistic about its long-term trajectory and profit goals, several factors remain to be confirmed. The timeline for the Indian market entry is subject to further progress, and the Indonesian project is contingent on successful development phases leading up to 2027. For those monitoring Thailand's industrial sector, these moves represent a notable effort by a local firm to scale operations globally. The company is also focusing on workforce development to support this international growth.
