Authorities Seize Over 130,000 Illegal Health Products in Samut Prakan Raid
Thai police and health officials raided a warehouse in Samut Prakan, seizing over 132,000 unregistered contact lenses, vitamins, and cosmetics valued at 4.7 million baht.
On September 18, 2026, the Consumer Protection Police Division (CPPD) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) executed a search warrant at a warehouse in Bang Pla, Bang Phli District, Samut Prakan. According to Khaosod Online, the operation followed an investigation into online retailers selling health products at suspiciously low prices.
Authorities seized a total of 132,720 items, with an estimated value exceeding 4.7 million baht. The confiscated goods included 117,839 unregistered contact lenses, as well as various vitamins and cosmetics that lacked proper registration. Officials stated that these products were imported from China and distributed through online platforms.
For residents and travelers, this raid highlights the risks associated with purchasing health-related items—such as contact lenses or supplements—from unverified online sellers. Products lacking FDA registration may not meet safety standards, potentially posing health risks to consumers.
