7-Eleven Thailand Expands Eco-Friendly Delivery Fleet with Electric Vehicles
7-Eleven Thailand has integrated the Changan Lumin electric vehicle into its 7Delivery service to enhance home delivery efficiency and reduce carbon emissions.
According to a report by Khaosod Online, 7-Eleven Thailand has expanded its 7Delivery service fleet by introducing the 'Nong Nguang' (Changan Lumin), a four-wheeled electric vehicle. This initiative is part of the company's broader strategy to provide convenient home delivery for household and kitchen goods while prioritizing environmental sustainability.
The addition of these electric vehicles allows the service to operate across 700 branches. With a total of 84 such vehicles now in service, the company estimates a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 470.12 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent per year, which is comparable to planting 47,012 large trees. This fleet expansion complements the existing 2,100 electric motorcycles already utilized by the delivery service.
For residents and travelers in Thailand, this development signifies a continued push toward greener logistics in the retail sector. While the service aims to improve the efficiency of delivering food, beverages, and personal care items directly to customers, the specific impact on delivery times and service availability in all regions remains to be confirmed.
