Thailand Reports 7,898 Applicants for Volunteer Soldier Program
The Ministry of Defence has announced that 7,898 individuals have applied for the 2027 volunteer soldier program within the first eight days of recruitment.
According to a report by Khaosod Online, the Thai Ministry of Defence has released data regarding the 'Volunteer Soldier' program for the year 2027. Between September 10 and September 17, 2026, a total of 7,898 people submitted applications, representing 31.59% of the total target of 25,000 recruits.
On September 17 alone, 492 new applications were processed, distributed across the Army (427), Navy (37), Air Force (24), and the Royal Thai Armed Forces Headquarters (4). The Ministry of Defence stated that this initiative is designed to provide opportunities for the younger generation to plan their future careers within the military structure. The first round of selection for these candidates is scheduled to take place on November 28, 2026.
