Fatal Concrete Mixer Truck Accident in Amnat Charoen
A concrete mixer truck crashed into a residential property in Amnat Charoen province, resulting in the driver's death; authorities are investigating the cause.
On the evening of September 17, 2026, a fatal traffic accident occurred at the Lue Chai intersection in Lue Amnat District, Amnat Charoen province. According to reports from Khaosod Online, a concrete mixer truck lost control and collided with a residential wall.
Emergency responders from the Phetkasem Foundation were dispatched to the scene at approximately 7:10 PM following a request for rescue equipment. It took rescue teams over 30 minutes to extract the driver, identified as 40-year-old Mr. Phraiwan Saiwan, from the wreckage. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Fortunately, no residents inside the home were injured during the incident.
Local police from the Lue Amnat Station are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash. Preliminary observations noted that the accident took place at night during rainy conditions. While authorities have suggested that the driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel, this remains a working theory. Officials are continuing to gather evidence and witness statements to finalize their investigation according to legal procedures.
