Police Hunt for Intoxicated Taxi Driver Following Property Damage in Samut Prakan
Authorities are searching for a taxi driver who abandoned their vehicle after crashing into multiple items in a narrow Samut Prakan alleyway early Wednesday morning.
On September 17, 2026, police in Bang Sao Thong, Samut Prakan, were alerted to a hit-and-run incident involving a green-yellow taxi. According to Khaosod Online, the driver allegedly entered a narrow alleyway—approximately three meters wide—in Soi Thetsaban Bang Sao Thong 6, where the vehicle struck several items belonging to local residents, including motorcycles, tables, chairs, and drying racks.
Local resident Somsak (a pseudonym) reported that the incident occurred around 3:00 AM while he was sleeping inside his home. Following the collision, the driver abandoned the taxi at the scene and fled on foot. Police investigators confirmed that while significant property damage occurred, there were no reported injuries.
For residents and travelers in the area, this incident highlights the risks associated with navigating narrow residential streets, particularly during late-night hours. Authorities are currently reviewing CCTV footage from the vicinity to identify the suspect and bring them to justice.
