Missing Man Found Alive in Ratchaburi Forest After Two-Day Search
A 54-year-old man reported missing for two days was discovered alive in a dense forest area in Ratchaburi province.
On September 17, 2026, local authorities in Ratchaburi, Thailand, responded to a report of a man discovered in a forest near an irrigation canal in Tambon Khok Mo. The individual, identified as 54-year-old Thanaphon Siribut, had been reported missing by his family for two days.
According to Khaosod Online, the discovery occurred when the victim's brother, Pakorn Siribut, located him in a heavily overgrown area. Rescue workers from the Pathom Borom Ratchanusorn Foundation initially arrived at the scene under the impression that they were recovering a body. However, during the extraction process, responders were surprised to hear the man groan, indicating he was still alive. Despite his exhausted and frail condition, he maintained a pulse and was immediately transported to a local hospital for urgent medical care.
Family members stated that Thanaphon had previously undergone brain surgery following an accident, which left him with cognitive impairments. He frequently walked to a nearby shopping center using the path along the canal where he was eventually found. For residents and travelers, this incident highlights the risks associated with navigating dense, overgrown areas in rural outskirts. While the man is currently receiving medical treatment, the specific circumstances regarding how he became incapacitated in the forest remain under investigation by the Mueang Ratchaburi Police Station.
