Thai Ministry of Transport Addresses Laem Chabang Port Traffic

On September 17, 2026, Deputy Minister of Transport Sanphet Bunyamanee chaired a meeting at the Ministry of Transport to review progress on traffic management at Laem Chabang Port. According to Khaosod Online, the Ministry has been implementing a three-phase strategy to alleviate congestion and enhance national logistics efficiency.

Sanphet stated that the situation has shown consistent improvement, particularly throughout August 2026. This progress is attributed to collaborative efforts between terminal operators, logistics companies, and the Port Authority of Thailand (PAT). Key actions included improved space management, accelerated container clearance, and streamlined operational workflows, which have successfully reduced truck accumulation within the port area.

For residents and travelers in the Chonburi area, these improvements may lead to smoother traffic flow on routes leading to and from the port.
