Chonburi Hospital Clarifies Wheel-Locking Incident in Private Parking Area
Chonburi Hospital has issued a statement regarding a viral incident where a vehicle transporting a disabled patient had its wheels locked in a parking space.
On September 17, 2026, Chonburi Hospital addressed public concern following viral social media images showing a vehicle being wheel-locked while dropping off a disabled patient in a wheelchair. The incident, which occurred earlier that morning, prompted the hospital to clarify the jurisdiction of the parking area.
According to the hospital’s official statement, the parking space where the incident took place is not under the hospital's management. It is located on private property owned by a hospital foundation, which operates independently of the hospital’s current administration. The hospital emphasized that it provides dedicated, accessible parking for disabled visitors directly in front of its main entrance, staffed by security personnel to assist those in need.
While the hospital is not responsible for the private foundation's parking policies, it has proactively contacted the foundation to discuss the matter. The goal of this coordination is to prevent similar incidents from affecting patients in the future. For residents and travelers, this serves as a reminder to verify parking designations, as hospital grounds and adjacent private lots may be managed by different entities. It remains to be confirmed what specific policy changes, if any, the private foundation will implement following the hospital's request for cooperation.
