Thailand Adjusts Oil Fund Levies for Diesel and Gasoline

The Oil Fuel Fund Office has announced new subsidy and contribution rates for diesel and gasoline, effective immediately.

According to a report by Matichon Online on September 17, 2026, the Oil Fuel Fund Executive Committee (ORFB) has finalized adjustments to the national oil fund rates. The committee has increased the subsidy for diesel fuel to 9.22 baht per liter. Conversely, gasoline will now be subject to a contribution of 1.86 baht per liter, which will be directed into the Oil Fuel Fund.

For residents and travelers in Thailand, these adjustments are significant as they directly influence fuel pump prices. The increase in the diesel subsidy is intended to stabilize the cost of this widely used fuel, which is essential for logistics and public transportation. Meanwhile, the contribution requirement for gasoline reflects the current management strategy of the Oil Fuel Fund to balance domestic energy costs.

While these rates have been officially approved by the committee, the long-term impact on retail prices at service stations remains to be seen. Consumers should monitor local fuel stations for updated price boards, as these adjustments typically reflect in retail costs shortly after the committee's announcement. Further details regarding the duration of these specific rates or potential future adjustments have not been disclosed at this time.
