Miss Thin Thai Ngam 2026 Contestants Showcase Cultural Heritage
Thirty contestants for the 76th Miss Thin Thai Ngam pageant recently presented vintage-inspired swimwear integrated with Hmong and Lanna textiles.
According to Khaosod Online Thailand, the Miss Thin Thai Ngam 2026 pageant has officially introduced its 30 finalists. Celebrating its 76th anniversary, the long-standing competition is overseen by Somchainuek Engtrakul and Sineenart Engtrakul. The Department of Cultural Promotion, represented by Deputy Director-General Suraphan Charoensap, has expressed support for the event’s focus on promoting Thai cultural identity.
During the recent presentation, the contestants modeled signature vintage-style swimwear, uniquely accented with Hmong ethnic fabrics and accessories. Additionally, the participants showcased traditional Lanna Thai Yuan attire, featuring 'Teen Jok' textiles from the Ban Hat Siew community in Sukhothai province. These displays were supported by the Ru Rak Samakkhi Social Enterprise.
For residents and travelers, this event highlights a significant intersection of modern pageantry and traditional craftsmanship. The integration of ethnic textiles into high-profile fashion serves as a platform for preserving regional artistry. While the contestants have been introduced and their cultural attire showcased, the final winner of the Miss Thin Thai Ngam 2026 title remains to be determined. The competition is scheduled to reach its climax on September 21, when the new titleholder will be crowned.
