TAT Promotes 'Thailand Beyond the Familiar' in Norway

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) hosted an event in Oslo to boost tourism from Norway by highlighting wellness and secondary destinations.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) recently held a trade and media event in Oslo, Norway, titled “Thailand Beyond the Familiar.” The initiative aimed to deepen the appeal of Thailand among Norwegian travelers by focusing on wellness tourism, year-round travel opportunities, and lesser-known destinations.

According to the TAT Newsroom, the event brought together 50 industry partners to showcase diverse regions, including Nakhon Pathom, as well as various locations across Southern and Northeast Thailand. The strategy leverages existing strong air connectivity between the two nations and the high-value nature of Norwegian visitors to drive growth in bookings and tourism revenue through 2027.

For travelers and residents, this initiative suggests a continued push by Thai authorities to diversify tourism beyond traditional hotspots, potentially leading to more curated travel packages and improved infrastructure in emerging regions. While the event successfully engaged industry stakeholders, the specific impact on future visitor numbers and the long-term success of these promotional efforts remain to be confirmed as the TAT continues to implement its strategy toward 2027.
