Thai police have confiscated a massive haul of illicit beauty products from two warehouses in Bang Phli, raising concerns about potential health risks from unregulated ingredients.
According to a report by Matichon Online, the Consumer Protection Police Division (CPPD) recently conducted a raid on two warehouses located in the Bang Phli district. During the operation, authorities seized more than 52,000 items of counterfeit cosmetics, which included imitations of both well-known Thai and international brands.
Officials stated that these products were smuggled into Thailand from abroad. The primary concern driving the investigation is the potential for these items to be contaminated with hazardous substances, as they have not undergone standard safety testing or regulatory approval.
