Athletes, including the Thai sepak takraw team, faced nearly 20 hours of delays before securing accommodation on the cruise ship Costa Serena. Thana Chaiprasit, Secretary-General of the National Olympic Committee of Thailand, noted that the team had to wait hours for transport and were eventually placed in rooms originally reserved for other delegations to resolve the immediate crisis.

Reports from Xinhua and other sources indicate that this is a broader issue, with athletes from China and various other countries stranded at Nagoya airport for up to six hours due to a failure in the transport system. Some athletes reportedly waited without access to food while attempting to reach their designated lodgings.
