IEAT Partners with GULF and GPSC to Launch Solar Farm in Map Ta Phut
The Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT) has formed a joint venture to develop a 17.5 MW solar power project on unused land within the Map Ta Phut Industrial Port.
According to a report by Prachachat Business on September 17, 2026, the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT) has collaborated with GULF1 and GPSC to establish a new entity named 'Re-nergy.' This joint venture aims to develop a solar farm on a 92-rai plot of land known as the Silt Pond, located within the third phase of the Map Ta Phut Industrial Port.
The project is designed to have a total power generation capacity of 17.5 megawatts. The primary objective of this initiative is to transform previously underutilized land into a source of clean energy to support the industrial sector, thereby contributing to carbon reduction efforts.
For residents and those living near the Rayong area, this development represents a shift toward integrating renewable energy infrastructure within major industrial zones. While the project focuses on industrial power supply, it highlights the ongoing regional transition toward sustainable energy production.
