Bolt Thailand Targets Full Compliance for Ride-Hailing Drivers by September 2026
Bolt Thailand is investing 30 million baht to ensure all its drivers obtain public transport licenses by September 30, 2026, amid steady market growth.
According to Khaosod Online, Bolt Thailand is actively working to transition its entire driver base into the legal framework for ride-hailing services. General Manager Natthadon Suksirithanant stated that the company is investing 30 million baht through initiatives such as 'Bolt Sure' and 'Booster Week' to assist drivers in securing the required public transport licenses by the deadline of September 30, 2026.
This push for full compliance comes as the ride-hailing market in Thailand continues to expand, driven by increased adoption from both local residents and international visitors. Bolt reports double-digit annual growth over the past three to four years and plans to extend its services to all 77 provinces in Thailand. Industry projections suggest the market could grow at a compound annual rate of 9-10% through 2030, potentially reaching a value of 3.5 billion USD.
For travelers and residents, this initiative may lead to a more standardized and regulated ride-hailing experience across the country.
