British National Arrested in Buriram Over Sports Apparel Fraud
Police in Buriram have arrested a British man accused of swapping authentic sports apparel for counterfeit items after ordering them online.
On September 16, 2026, authorities in Buriram province executed a search warrant at a local resort, leading to the arrest of a British national. According to Khaosod Online, the operation was initiated following a complaint filed by Mega Castle Co., Ltd. with the Mueang Buriram Police Station.
Investigators allege that the suspect utilized an online ordering system to purchase authentic sports shirts and shorts. Upon receiving the genuine items, the individual reportedly claimed the sizes were incorrect, subsequently returning counterfeit versions of the products to the company instead of the original merchandise. Police, led by Buriram Provincial Police Commander Pol. Maj. Gen. Warayut Chanyiam, conducted the search under a warrant issued by the Buriram Provincial Court on September 15, 2026.
