Thailand Post Expands Digital Post ID System to Modernize Logistics
Thailand Post, in collaboration with the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society, is expanding its 6-digit 'Digital Post ID' system to include other logistics providers.
According to a report by Prachachat Business, Thailand Post is moving forward with the implementation of the 'Digital Post ID' (D/ID) system. This initiative, supported by the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society and the Office of the Personal Data Protection Committee, replaces traditional physical address labels with a unique 6-digit code.
Minister of Digital Economy and Society, Chaiyamon Chidchob, indicated that the project aims to enhance personal data protection and streamline delivery processes. A key objective of this expansion is to invite other private logistics companies to adopt the same 6-digit coding standard. By creating a unified digital addressing system, the government intends to lay the groundwork for broader digital identity verification, which could potentially help mitigate issues related to scammers in various business sectors.
